Masvil Cubs meet on a Wednesday evening between 6:30 and 8pm. John is the pack leader, supported by a great team of helpers. You can read loads more about Masvil Cubs here.
If you wanted information about Concorde Cubs, who meet on a Tuesday then click here.

Cub Scouting is for young people between 8 and 10½, at Cubs we enjoy loads of activities and games as well as learning and making friends. From Cubs the next progression is Scouts when they become 10½ for more fun and skills. Masvil Cubs meet together once a week where they enjoy making friends, helping others, playing games and having fun.

If you want to join Cubs and take part in all the fun then simply email us your details and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

The Cub Promise, Law And Motto

All members of the scout movement make a special promise, the words are easy to learn but it's really important that you try to keep your promise everyday.

The Cub Scout Promise is:

I promise that I will do my best,
To do my duty to God and to the Queen,
To help other people,
And to keep the Cub Scout Law.

The Cub Scout Law is:

Cub Scouts always do their best
Think of others before themselves
And do a good turn everyday.

The Cub Scout Motto is:

Be Prepared

Making the promise is very important for everyone in Scouting.

The Cubs Badgework

The Cubs work towards seven Challenges Badges, thirty three Activity Badges, and three Partnership Badges. Ultimately hope to gain the Chief Scouts Silver Award, which is the highest award available to Cub Scouts.

Examples of the badges Cubs can try for include the Artists, Emergency Aid, Outdoor Challenge, Local Knowledge and Home Safety, you can find out more about all of these using the links above.

Masvil Cubs Photographs

Photographs and images from some Cub activities are shown in the St Laurence Scout Group Gallery along with photos and things from other sections.

We take the protection and safety of all our members very seriously and you can read more about this in our site information area.

The Cub Uniform

The Cubs uniform is a green sweatshirt and dark trousers with a green necker. The necker has a gridiron at the tip which points to the left when looking at the wearer from behind, the badges should be sewn on as indicated below.

You can also see all the
other sections uniforms and where to buy it.

Cub Pack Things

Masvil Cubs meet on a Wednesday night between 18:30 and 20:00.

Things we ask of all our uniformed members in all sections are that we all do our best, we should try to attend
church parade on the second Sunday of every month [except August] and attend as many fundraising functions as we can. As well as this subs are paid on the first meeting every month and full uniform is worn unless otherwise advised.

We hope their will never be a problem at St. Laurence Scout Group however should you have any questions or queries do not hesitate to contact or get in touch with your section leader. Remember that if in doubt, ask!

The Masvil Cub Leaders

St Laurence Scout Group benefits from a large leadership team to help run all the sections and group events, you can find out more about the team here, as well as how to contact them.

The Cub Leaders that work hard to keep St. Laurence Masvil Cubs running smoothly are Sally and John and helped by a team of adults and young leaders comprising of Helen, Craig and Jodi

Where to Now?

Eventually the time comes for a Cub Scout to move on to Scouts to learn more and enjoy all the fun there. When moving they are presented with a badge called the Moving on Award provided they do certain things.

After a Cub is 10½ years old they can join Scouts who meet on a Tuesday night between 20:00 and 21:30. Scouts follows a similar structure to Cubs, in terms of having fun, making friends and learning, but activities are more suited to their age range, there are a more badges to try and more opportunity for activity camps and scouting skills.

You can see what the Scouts have been up to recently by viewing their news section.
