St Laurence Masvil and Concorde Cubs have just come home from four days away on our latest camp with a difference - a camp for Cubs (Little) and their parents (Large). Over the weekend we did some super things like Abseiling, Crate Stacking, Cooking a three course meal on an open fire, Pioneering, Water Fights, Tug-of-war, campfires, Three-way-volleyball (great fun!) and so much more.
For me the best bit of camp was meeting many fantastic new people and having a great time doing it! Thanks for a BRILLIANT weekend guys!
This weekend we took 8 Scouts for a Patrol Leaders Training Weekend. WOW what a Fab weekend it was too!
The Scouts learn't how to develope in their role as Patrol Leaders and Teamwork. I must say all Scouts did really well and the improvement in all of them by the end of today was very noticeable.
They did different activities on Saturday and Sunday and we were so lucky because the weather held out for us too!
This morning Rea Valley District proudly won the County Cub Football Championship, after playing (and winning) many other games against 8 other teams from accross Birmingham. Within the winning team there were four Cubs from St Laurence, Luke, Scott, Levi and Matthew.
The whole team played superbly well and the Cubs should all feel very proud of themselves. The trophy will be making its way around the packs shortly. Well done and thanks for your committment!
Fantastic news for our group (especially the Scouts) because we won the Young Scout Old Scout History Competition.
This is probably down to the fantastic efforts of Dianne and the Scouts who worked so hard to get the information needed. Masvil and Concorde Cubs both entered some information for the competition too.
